How do the party manifestos stack up against our Teach the Future demands?

We’ve analysed each manifesto against our 6 demands of #TeachTheFuture. It’s clear to see our climate strikes have had an impact in shifting the conversation for some parties. The transformation of our education system as a means to solve the climate crisis and ecological emergency is reflected most clearly in the commitments by the Greens and Labour.

Most  major parties have now published their election manifestos and, as  students, we thought we’d better grade them on their efforts.


We’ve  analysed each manifesto against our 6 demands of #TeachTheFuture. It’s  clear to see our climate strikes have had an impact in shifting the  conversation  for some parties. The transformation of our education system as a means  to solve the climate crisis and ecological emergency is reflected most  clearly in the commitments by the Greens and Labour.


I’m excited to see that our campaign has  been effective in pushing some major political parties to include  education for the  climate emergency in their manifestos. The important thing now is to  make sure that voters consider this election to be the climate election,  not just the Brexit election, and cast their ballots with young people  in mind.

I cannot vote for another year, but  I am talking to friends and relatives to make sure they think about my  future on 12th December.
