In the next few weeks, we will be officially launching Teach the Future Scotland.

This campaign is being led by a group of students across Scotland and supported by Scottish Youth Climate Strike (SYCS) and the National Union of Students Scotland (NUS Scotland).

Today we wrote to John Swinney, the cabinet secretary of Education in the Scottish Parliament. We wrote to him asking for a recovery that creates green jobs and improves the mental health of young people. In the letter, we highlighted that there needs to be a green recovery and that all existing education buildings need to be retrofitted to a net-zero standard and all new education buildings need to be built to a net-zero standard. This was signed off by three of our students and the NUS Scotland president.

You can read the letter here.

From all at Teach the Future Scotland, we can’t wait to launch this campaign alongside the English one. Keep an eye out as we will be back soon!
