After a short break to allow members time to cope with the current crisis, Teach the Future is continuing to onboard new student volunteers, plan, and work digitally to build capacity so we will be ready when the time comes to re-engage the government. The education system, and the world, is currently in an unprecedented situation; with a move to online resources and changes to examinations, the education system has been forced to adapt to a time of crisis by taking extreme measures which many wouldn't have believed were possible. We hope that this shows those in government that the education system is able to change to respond to a crisis, as it now must do in order to combat the climate crisis.
We are fortunate to be supported in our work by several key organisations, including the Association of Colleges and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The Association of Colleges represents almost 95% of the further education, sixth form and college sector, and is therefore a vital supporter in our campaign to reform all levels of the education system.
We have also been able to secure £30,000 which will enable us to employ staff to coordinate our campaign. Having dedicated members of staff will ensure that Teach the Future is able to continue to operate, expand, and work even harder to reform the education system. We’re very grateful to the two independent trusts that provided us with these funds; this economic contribution to Teach the Future will hopefully enable us to make positive change within the education system. We would also like to thank the Environmental Funders Network for putting us in touch with such progressive funders.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our supporters for continuing to back Teach the Future through these turbulent and confusing times.
