The Green New Deal is an independent non-profit organisation that is cracking down on the government's countless empty promises surrounding the climate crisis. They push for social, economic, and climate justice to create a more fair and equal environment for everyone in the UK in their ten year plan. Welcoming anyone from all walks of life to make the movement stronger and more diverse as people’s power and political power is the way to win the deal.

The organisation runs in local hubs across the country, targeting areas that have been ignored and are lacking sustainable investment to help increase their support in different communities. This in itself puts pressure on politicians to do the same and support the deal for their constituents so they don’t end up losing their seat in parliament. Their main aims are to get the government to drastically reduce carbon emissions, create more high earning green jobs, invest in public services and protect wild areas. Specifically targeting areas that need it most first. Wind turbines, solar panels, and other renewable energy sources are the way we, as a country, should be heading to sustain the earth for future generations.

What has the Green New Deal already achieved? In 2019, different parts of the deal were introduced in the Labour Party’s Green Industrial Revolution in the General Election. Also, the deal has had their main demands recognised by the UK Student Climate Network. With continuous growth in support for the deal, politicians will no longer have the choice to ignore the demands that the vast majority of people have on the climate crisis.
