Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

"Yes. As a student and educator I fully recognise the importance of climate literacy through every part of the curriculum "
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

"Yes. We need all of our citizens to understand the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Learning about the both the technological and political solutions is an important part of addressing climate change and biodiversity loss, and mitigating against climate catastrophe. "
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

"Yes. Our educators are one of our most precious resources and to train them is to educate the generations to come. I also support life-long education as older people are often the most naïve about our climate crisis."
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

"Yes. Our schools are some of local governments biggest assets, and carbon neutral buildings and learning environments would not only help set a good example but save local government money in the medium to long term. I urge everyone to contact your local councillors to demand action on this."
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

"Yes. Green skills are essential for our transition to net zero."
