Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes, most definitely. We cannot hope for young people to understand the problem or be able to vote for those who can make changes to act against climate change if they do not have a fundamental grasp of what is the most important issue of our time
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Yes, we are already too late to prevent some of the impacts of climate change but it doesn't need to be a catastrophe - however, we all need to understand solutions we could use to adapt to climate change in every part of our life, our collective responsibility for others in other parts of our country and the world, and in what we can do to not worsen the situation.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes, but teachers should embrace others who might know more than them. Time is of the essence in understanding climate change and we need to learn together
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes. Some things are really cheap and easy to do, such as draft-proofing windows that do need need to be used. There are also educational spin-offs from monitoring energy usage and developing a mitigation and adaptation plan for your school or college.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, they don't have to be mutually exclusive! This is part of life.
