Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes, the climate is intrinsic to human life, both past and present, so it makes sense that climate change be intergrated into all subjects.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Yes, in fact the causes and impacts should be taught with a view to understanding what the solutions are and could be to the climate crisis, and if the planet and us are to survive then solutions must be found.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes, of course, to enable them to fully integrate it into their subject areas and classes, to foster appreciation of our situation, and to help towards developing solutions.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes - this is crucial both to ensure schools are usable and function as the climate changes, and for schools to contribute to ameliorating climate change and to make managing schools more economical/sustainable.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, absolutely. The future relies on us becoming much more climate-sensitive and finding ways of being more environmentally-concious and more sustainable. This means that green skills need to be taught right across the board.
