Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

I support integrating this topic into relevant subjects.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

    Yes
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes. It's clear from teachers I met at an event recently that they are concerned about the lack of training for teachers around the climate crisis.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes absolutely. I am a councillor at West Berkshire Council, which is committed to making its estate carbon neutral by 2030.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes. I think there needs to be more investment in training for skilled jobs in the renewables industry. I recently had an air source heat pump installed, and saw first hand the skilled labour involved. I'm aware that there is a shortage of people doing this work.
