Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Absolutely - children and young people are aware of the importance of the issue and need all the information available to reduce the risks of misinformation and conspiracy theories spreading, as well as allowing them to best advocate for the policies they want to see implemented.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Absolutely- we need to instil our young people with the knowledge that we have the solutions and that they should have hope for a future that avoids climate catastrophe.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes - the above would be impossible without tailored training for teachers
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes - we cannot delay action on climate across all parts of society, including the schools estate.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes - this is a huge and growing area of future employment that is likely to drive the STEM jobs of the future. Our children and young people should know of these careers early.
