Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

I am an advocate for more to be done in order deal with climate change, we have had climate change on the radar for over a hundred years and our respective governments have kicked this can down the road for long enough, its not going to go away if we ignore it, the more we as a society are educated to be aware of it, to see through trough the pseudo-science pushed out by the skeptics the bettter.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

I support the teaching of critical thinking, debate and problem solving. climate change is the biggest threat we face as a society, the more people who can come into work and see a solution to help mitigate the effects the better.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

we cannot educate people without the people delivering the material being knowledgeable on the subject.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

I'd like to see where possible as much done to bring all our public sector buildings to be operating as close to carbon neutral as possible, This will get get push back from who ever gets the main leavers of power but we need a voice that will advocate for that investment as it will help deal with climate change and in the long term can also be more cost effective, but history show the leading governments don't like the short term investiture
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

I will confess I understand what is meant by green skills, but if best working policy and practice can envelope implementing small changes to help protect the environment then I am all for them.
