Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Absolutley, our children will inherit this world from us and it is imperative that they understand their place in it at an early age. The sooner that they learn the dangers of man made climate change the sooner they will be able to take their own steps to change behaviours. Our children are good at advocating change in families and they bring home important information which they can teach their elders around the dinner table.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Yes, as I said in the above answer, the more we understand about climate change the better. As science evolves so should out teaching so that we can better prepare the next generation to solve the problems which they inherit.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes, it is vital that those who teach should do so from a position of understanding as opposed to just teaching from a curriculum worksheet. Children are inquisitive and need background information which can only be provided accurately if it comes from a point of understanding.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes, This saves money in the long term and allows children to see they benefits first hand as they learn.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, this is the way of the world and it is imperative that new skills are brought into the workplace. Who better to do so than the next generation of the workforce.
