Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes, as climate change will impact every aspect of our lives especially if not addressed.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Yes, I have been driving an electric car fit over 13 years and I am currently in the process of retrofitting a heat pump. We need to ensure that the climate change solutions we choose also address the chronic issue of health impacting air pollution. “Almost the entire global population (99%) breathes air that exceeds WHO air quality limits, and threatens their health.” https://www.who.int/news/item/04-04-2022-billions-of-people-still-breathe-unhealthy-air-new-who-data This will require the move away as far as possible from combustion derived energy sources. The uptake of non combustion climate solutions would rapidly pay back through the significant gains in public health.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes as it impacts all aspects of life and there is a lot of anti net zero disinformation from vested interests.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes, leaf by example and hopefully improve air quality at the sane time.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, we are crying out for qualified heat pump installers and EV certified mechanics.
