Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes. Wherever possible, climate change should be covered across the curriculum.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Absolutely. The solutions are all around us. Sustainable energy, stop using fossil fuels, public services and utilities being run in public hands. Privatisation is an expensive scam. Schools need to teach pupils to think critically about our economy.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes. Teachers Assemblies would be good, where educationalists could meet together and agree on solutions and action.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes. This would be an investment. We can't afford NOT to do this. And it will create jobs!
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, definitely. Food science would be a good example. Recycling and the need to reduce plastic waste.
