Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes, the climate crisis is an existential threat that has bearing on all areas of life and so learning about it and the ways individuals, businesses and corporations can help slow temperature rise and mitigate the impacts is vital for this generation to learn about.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

    yes (see above)
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

yes - otherwise they are likely to not be up to date with the fast changing science and the concerns of their pupils.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes - making education real estate carbon neutral would be a big step towards making the country carbon neutral, plus a learning opportunity for students and a lot of schools are in desperate need of renovation thanks to Tory neglect so this could be done at the same time.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Of course - there is a shortage of many green skills in the workforce compared to what we need for the pace of change required.
