Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes. It is essential we educate our future generation anout what is happening to the planet to best prepare them to take action.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

I am in complete support, further to my first answer we have to be completely transparent and honest about the challenges we face but also around the ways we deal with the climate emergency - thinking how it will affect people in different parts of the globe disproportionately.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes - it should be an essential part of teacher training. Having access to age appropriate materials around climate change will serve educators to help young people make sense of the news stories and the consequences of climate change they will experience.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes, completely, we have seen schools falling apart under the Tories with RAC, we need 21st century schools which are sustainable and for young people to have access to green spaces and nature as part of their daily education.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, completely. We need to have green skills offered if we are to create a future workforce that work with the just transition and go into jobs that are green.
