Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

I am very supportive of this. Climate change is already affecting every aspect of our lives including the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, the biodiversity crises and air and water quality issues. Given no aspect of lives is unaffected by this it would seem odd not to look at the issue in an integrated way through every subject we are teaching. It is also a very relevant way of teaching a subject which in turn can help not only the understanding of climate change but I believe it can ensure the subject itself can be taught in a very memorable way.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Every single one of us has a responsibility to contribute to the solutions of climate change. As such teaching solutions and expanding students knowledge of the causes and impacts is a positive step.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

I do support more training on climate change. It is a complex issue and the more informed everyone is the more likely we are to equip ourselves with the knowledge we need to contribute positively to this issue.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

We need to look at carbon neutrality in every aspect of our lives including the schools we are taught in
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Green skills are not just needed to address climate change, water, air and biodiversity challenges. Green skills a going to be vital to the economy and economic growth, as such i am very supportive of more green skills being taught in job related education.
