Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes. Indeed, we will also create the workers, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, community leaders and business leaders of tomorrow who are well versed in specialist subjects that will help create the solutions to achieve net zero and ecosystem restoration.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Yes. Indeed, we will also create the workers, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, community leaders and business leaders of tomorrow who are well versed in specialist subjects that will help create the solutions to achieve net zero and ecosystem restoration. This will include training, retraining, and academic and practical research and development, incentivised by tax allowances to accelerate achievement.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Training for teachers, a refocusing of the education system and the creation of subject specialists to accelerate achievement for teachers, schools and pupils.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes. A key premise of our mandate is to retrofit every school and NHS building to be net zero free; this will slash energy bills in schools by around £1Bn, which will be available for teachers to spend on education; lower class sizes; manageable workload; greater facilities.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes. We will ensure British leadership of a renewed clean industrial revolution in order to drive economic revival and increased prosperity for British people. This will requires a visionary mission, with clarity of purpose and a clear target, well in advance of other developed economies, of net zero by 2030, which is also in line with the science. This will mean a wide range of practical skills also being taught AND specialist skills being taught to students based on the future world of work streams that they enter i.e. practical trades, business, science, academia, arts, governance etc...
