Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

I understand that we have a very real climate emergency on our hands that is leading to irreversible damage, it is vital that we ensure this is included in every subject and how every industry can help to reduce the impact they are having on the world.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

I absolutely support teaching about climate change solutions, It will inevitably, also fall on future generations to manage and repair the damage done, therefore ensuring they have the skills and resources to find solutions is critical.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

I support and stand with our teachers. They do an amazing job despite often difficult and stressful circumstances. I will advocate for better resources to be available to our teachers and to educate everyone on our climate emergency.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

I believe we should be exploring every solution and taking every small action we can individually towards this end. By upgrading public buildings and supporting schemes to bring homes to meeting better energy standards we can all see the changes we are making.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

I believe innovate solutions to old and new problems in this digital age will only come with the resources being put where they are needed and this is in education. Education both within the teaching and industry sectors, at all levels.
